Housie Tickets
Housie tickets are probably the single most important item used in the game. These are used to show the numbers, which must be marked off as they are called.
90-Ball Housie Tickets
90-Ball Housie tickets are the special cards used to play the game. As the name implies, these cards have five out of a possible 90 numbers.
- Housie tickets have three rows containing nine squares. Each ticket has randomly selected numbers from one to 90, which are in no particular order. There are no letters, and only five squares in the row contain numbers, the others are left blank.
- Housie wins are not determined on patterns, but rather on the number of lines won. Players can either win one line, two lines or ‘Full House’ (all three lines).
- 90-Ball games are usually played in sessions, and players can buy strips. A strip is a set of six tickets. Players can also choose to buy a certain number of strips, which is known as a book.
Playing Housie Tickets
Playing Housie tickets can be a bit daunting at first if you have a whole lot that you have to watch, but it gets easier when you get used to it.
Here is how it all works:
- In a Housie game, the caller will announce each number as the ball is released from the cage. These numbers are also shown on the board.
- As each number is called, you need to quickly scan your tickets to see if that number is on any of them. If it is, you mark the number off.
- As soon as all your numbers in one line, two lines or all lines have been filled, you’ve won Housie!
Housie Sessions
Housie sessions are set blocks of games, usually over an hour.
To play a Housie session, you need to buy the set number of tickets needed to claim the session jackpot (which is the final game of the session).
Tickets are sold in books as well as sessions, which make it easier to know how many games there will be in the session.
